Glorious Christmas Traditions for the Most Magical Time of Year!

Published by Tiffany on 3rd Dec 2018

Every family has their own traditions... and until I started this list I didn’t even realize we have quite a few traditions.

-We have two trees.

Momma has her pretty tree which is a real tree. The kids have their own that they decorate with their ornaments- {the kids tree is my favorite}

-We decorate the exterior

This is getting increasingly easier at my stage of life because my oldest 2 almost exclusively handle this.  I'm now just management in this department.

-Family gift exchange

We get together with quite a few family members for Christmas so about a month before we include everyone that is coming in the name exchange.  Each person gives one gift and receives one.  We do not segregate so the kids and adults are all mixed.  Its even possible to get a member of your immediate family.  Its just fun!

-The Giving Manger

This year I stumbled upon The Giving Manger and thought it was for sure a new family tradition. Here is the link to learn more.

-Continuous Christmas Music and ...
The first of December means Christmas music all day everyday until the speaker dies:)  Also this year for some reason the ladies of the house especially love Hallmark movies.  We can't get enough.

AND...

We decorate sugar cookies and make gingerbread houses at some point.

Read the Christmas Story from the book of Luke as a family

Plan/ Attend/ Host parties....This is probably the most stressful and the most fun.

Drive around town together and look at Christmas lights.

EAT eat and eat... for Christmas Eve dinner we always have soups and lots of snacks

Singing Christmas Carols before opening gifts on Christmas Eve... this tradition was started by my late Grandmother when I was young... now we have packets and we sing ALL of the songs in the packet.  Its my FAV!!!

Croissants on Christmas morning ... the ones from Williams Sonoma are the bomb.  Just don't forget to set them out the night before.

The gift we ALWAYS give is a family photo calendar to the grandparents.  These are a bit of a pain to compile but it really is the gift that keeps on giving all year!
